In conjunction with communication, relationships represent the basis of our human being-ness.

We are constantly in all manner of relationships – intimate, in the workplace, with family, with friends, with strangers to whom we make a passing comment. Relationships come in many forms – not all of them positive.

The weird thing is that anything we’ve ever learnt about relationships has come about through experience only. We’re not trained at school about how to maintain supportive and life enhancing relationships. (Unless you count those awful lessons of life learnt in the school playground.)

Think about it for a second, for most of us, our primary lesson in relationships comes from our parents. That is the relationship that we have had most intimate exposure to prior to our stepping out into the world of love and lust and societal views on relationships and marriage. Now, if one of your friends was having a problem in their relationship, would you take them to your parents for some advice on how to handle it? For most of us, that question brings up a resounding “not”!

Our relationships module is designed to allow individuals, teams and groups of people to:

  • have a better understanding of relationships;
  • to understand the dynamics that play out in relationships and the individual’s contribution to those dynamics;
  • to know how best to relate to someone – and to understand how differences are developed, maintained and taken into consideration;
  • to know when your belief patterns about relationships are playing out to your detriment;
  • to notice where cycles or particular ways of organising yourself in relationships occur and how to experience different relationships with self and with other

* Important Note * All of the Transformational Learning Australia programs recognise the unequivocally central position that relationships hold in our lives, that our search for meaning is grounded in our experience of relationship, and that all of us benefit from having information, skills and understanding developed in relation to what it means to be in relationship.  For further information, see our Personal Development programs.
